Airguide have been the standard in Waterski Speedometers for decades. Unlike all other pitot (normal) speedometers, Airguides read at low speeds. Normal speedometers don't give any worthwhile reading at less than 20mph (32kph). Worse still normal speedos dedicate half of the dial to speeds most inboard boats either can't get up to or rarely do. Airguide had the quality waterski speedometer market well and truly cornered for decades with all quality ski boats being fitted with at least one and generally two of these gauges.
Perfect Pass cruise control was released in the 90's and by 2002 competition ski boats were fitted with that instead. Sadly Airguide stopped production in approximately 2001.
Many people can't justify the price of cruise control in their ski boat. But they do need an accurate speedometer.
There are also lots of people with 10+ year old Airguides that need replacement parts or a complete gauge.
